Welcome on my website 'PhotoArt'
My name is Didier de Borle and I am a passionate hobby photographer. I prefer to call myself an image maker. I seek, through my images, a sense of.... to convey to the viewer to my photos.
On these pages I want to show a "Top 100" of my images.
To be clear: Although I have shot about 30.000 images from March 2013 to now (March 2022), I do not yet have a "top 100". This is just a pursuit.
If I ever get to 100, in my opinion, "top 100" worthy photos, adding a new image will have to remove one of the current images.
Photography as art
Contemporary photography has a clear division of documentary photography and art photography. The goal in documentary photography is to convey a realistic situation and that by portraying this situation as it really is. In art photography, a scene is created based on an initially realistic situation. In doing so, the photographer uses his knowledge of photography and applies styling, alienation or post-processing to this. The intention is to convey to the viewer the feeling that is present with the photographer during the process.
Particularly during the past decades, the acceptance of photography as an art form has continued. In addition to painting, museums also display photo art. There are also museums where the collection consists exclusively of photographic art.
Below is a list of some photo museums that are definitely worth a visit:
